Advert Task

Go to YouTube and find an advert of your choosing:

• Answer the following questions on your blog. 

1) What is the purpose of the advert? To sell, promote, raise awareness? Pull out an example from your advert which shows this (e.g. slogan, camera shot, music, logo, mise-en-scene etc)

2) What is the style of your advert? Humorous, scary, exciting, comical etc? Pull out an example which back this up.

3) Pull out 3 elements from your advert (cinematography, mise-en-scene, genre conventions, sound), discuss what these elements tell the audience. 

4) Who do you believe is the target audience of your advert? (gender, age). Give an example of mise-en-scene, cinematography or sound to back this up. 

5) Make a list of the things the producers of the advert would have had to do to make the advert (acting, scripting, location, filming etc).

6) Analyse the product/service/cause of your advert. Come up with an idea for an advert for it.

This afternoon you will be learning how to use a DSLR camera, answer the following questions on the back of your A3 sheet. 

1) What does DSLR stand for?

2) What is the difference between a DSLR and a regular digital camera?

3) What does ISO stand for?

4) What is ISO?

5) What is aperture?

6) What does composition in photography mean?
